Creative arts counselling - integrating and restoring balance

As the demands of life increase, so too does our own stress levels. Even the pace of life seems to speed up as the years roll by and often times we find ourselves overwhelmed and unable to provide ourselves with the space to address our own needs. Creative Arts counselling can help you by providing you with the necessary skills to address life circumstances and facilitate change.

'Creative arts counselling' is a combination of multi modal, arts based interventions coupled with voice, movement, and psychodrama. These processes are engaged to promote authentic expression, develop insight and increase overall wellbeing.

I specialise and have an interest in: drug/alcohol addiction, psychosis, depression, anxiety, trauma, sleep disorder, resistance, abuse, relationship breakdown, life transitions, evoking passion, discovering and restoring personal meaning.

Paul is a Transpersonal Counsellor whose practice is centred around supporting and developing authentic connection. He has been a meditation teacher for four years and in that time has also facilitated monthly men's groups. Lyn has been Nursing for the past 20 years helping people overcome their physical disabilities working within the community. In this time she has seen people physiologically scared due to their individual personal conditions. Lyn soon realised there was a need to help the person work through their problems. She discovered a course called Art Therapy allowing people to   express themselves, with out feeling their privacy being invaded. She graduated from the Ikon Institute in 2006. Lyn has assisted several practioners since then and has decided after the learning and experiences to go it alone, and help people within the Western community.

Sally has been working as a Community Development worker using creative arts for over 20 years. She has recently completed her Arts therapy diploma and is passionate about her new vocation as a Creative Arts Therapist who brings hope from a centre of joy and creativity. Sally has experience working with people who experience mental health issues and has a strong interest in post natal depression, children’s art and community building. In addition she has recently visited the States to learn more about Open Studio processes for groups.
